Aura therapy is a healing approach that involves reading a person’s aura, or vital energy field, and then treating the diseases that the aura colour or colours disclose. Aura therapy is a subtype of biofield treatment, which is an energy therapy that employs energies that are assumed to exist in or originate from the human body (as distinct from electromagnetic energy therapies). Aura therapy stresses manipulating the aura energy back into a positive balance. There are numerous variants of treatment, but in general, aura therapy emphasises manipulating the aura energy back into a good equilibrium.
Aura colour therapy is more closely associated with light treatment than with other types of aura therapy, such as therapeutic touch. The proportions of the colours in a person’s aura, as well as their clarity or intensity, are evaluated and treated in aura colour therapy. According to aura colour therapists, a healthy person’s aura will have an undistorted oval form surrounding the body, with clean lines of light energy and a perfect balance of the rainbow’s seven colours. Energy imbalances are indicated by muddy hues, bulges or swirls in the energy lines, or the lack of any of the major colours. A depressed individual, for example, will have a lot of blue and green in their aura but no orange or yellow.
